Approach to therapy:

I integrate cultural practices, those influenced by African/Black culture, centering community with a social justice orientation into Teyber’s Interpersonal Process in Therapy (IPiT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This integrative approach weaves clients’ layered identities directly into the treatment plan. By creating a therapeutic space that honors their culture and personal experiences, I can support clients in addressing their concerns while accessing strength, joy, and liberation grounded in their identity and community. My research has focused on incorporating Black feminist ideologies to explore mental health behaviors (e.g., help-seeking behaviors) and barriers to care (e.g., cultural mistrust) among Black Americans.

Approach to wellness:

My approach to wellness looks like maintaining a healthy and comprehensive routine that includes all of the activities I enjoy, such as music, movies, friends, and weightlifting.
