UHC utilizes an electronic health record system, called MiChart. MiChart is the same electronic health record system used by Michigan Medicine.
MiChart has an easy-to-use patient portal (called “MyChart, not to be confused with “MiChart”!) located at MyUofMHealth.org, where you can:
- Request an appointment, view and cancel appointments, or self-schedule select appointments
- Send non-urgent messages to your care team, which is the preferred way to correspond with your provider because you avoid phone tag, communicate in a secure system, and get faster responses!
- Receive laboratory and other test results
- Refer to visit summary information, including patient education
- Obtain health information and education related to test results, medications and diagnoses
- Review prescription medications and request prescription renewals
- Add, update, or view insurance information
- View your allergies, health history, immunizations, and demographic information
- In your app store, select the "MyChart by Epic" app, then choose "MyUofMHealth" or access the portal through a browser
To set up and access your patient portal:
Incoming students:
- In the weeks before your first semester, you will receive an activation email from Michigan Medicine (donotreply@med.umich.edu) with a unique activation code.
- Please create your account within 24 hours of receiving the activation email.
- If the 24 hours have passed or if you have not received the activation email by August 1 (or December 1, for students starting in the winter term), please email the Health Information Management team at UHC-Registration@med.umich.edu and include your UMID, date of birth and local address.
Returning students and others who have not visited UHC before:
- If you are not sure if you have a patient portal already set up, please email the health information/registration team at UHC-Registration@med.umich.edu and include your UMID, date of birth, and local address.
Proxy access is available through the portal as follows:
- For patients 13-17 years old: Access is available, but access is granted based on need as determined only by a provider.
- For patients 18 years or older: Access is available, and access must be granted by the patient.
