The University Health & Counseling (UHC) Campus Insurance Office is pleased to offer the Stand-Alone Domestic Student Dental Plan through Delta Dental. This plan is available to eligible University of Michigan–Ann Arbor students and provides affordable dental coverage to help manage the cost of preventive, routine, and major dental care.
Why Use the University of Michigan School of Dentistry?
Students may visit any licensed dentist; however, the greatest savings and highest level of coverage are available when receiving care through the University of Michigan School of Dentistry (UMSOD). Depending on the service received, students may save significantly compared with using out-of-network providers.
Enrollment Information
Open enrollment is available annually from June 1 through September 30. Coverage begins August 1 for covered services. The plan is available only to students enrolled at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
Monthly cost: $37.87 per month for both individual and family coverage.
How to Enroll
Domestic Students with a Social Security number can enroll online through Delta Dental.
Coverage Highlights:
- Diagnostic & Preventive Services (Oral Exams, Cleanings, X-rays, etc.): 100% covered.
- Basic Services (Fillings, Root Canals, Wisdom Tooth Extractions, etc): 100% covered.
- Major Services (Crowns, Implants, etc.): 75% Covered.

Please note: This is a stand-alone plan for students in need of dental insurance. Additionally, this plan may be of interest to students currently enrolled in the Domestic Student Health Insurance Plan who are interested in obtaining additional dental coverage beyond what is already included in the Domestic Student Health Insurance Plan.
