What vaccinations are required or recommended for students?
All U-M students residing in Michigan Housing on the Ann Arbor and Marygrove campuses are required to submit their vaccination records. Sharing this information is highly recommended for all other students.

These records should include information about any vaccine doses the student has received for the following:

  • Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • Meningococcal disease (MenACWY)
  • Meningitis B
  • Polio
  • Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)

U-M students who are not vaccinated against these diseases are still required to complete the vaccination submission form, which includes an option to attest that they are not vaccinated.

Vaccinations highly recommended:

  • COVID-19 vaccine – yearly (may be recommended more frequently for individuals over age 65 years and for those with underlying health conditions)
  • Hepatitis A vaccine
  • Hepatitis B vaccine (may be required for some healthcare workers)
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Influenza vaccine – yearly (may be required for some healthcare workers)
