Approach to Therapy:

As a therapist, I believe strongly in the healing power of insight into one’s own person and being; self-understanding is the rising tide that lifts all ships. My goal is to work to create a safe and trauma-informed space to help clients explore who they are, what a meaningful life looks like for them, and what steps are necessary to achieve that life. To that end, I employ an insight-oriented approach with cognitive and behavioral interventions to facilitate client’s self-understanding, to help them to navigate the challenges of being a university student, and to help them tolerate distress. My clinical work centers the lived experience and intersectional identity of my clients, and I practice from an inclusive, LGBTQIA-affirming and kink-affirming perspective.

Approach to Wellness:

To me, wellness refers to all the required components for maintaining a meaningful life. It includes elements like self-care and working to maintain good physical health, sleep, exercise, and nutrition, but also finding time for play, joy, catharsis, personally meaningful pursuits, and satisfying engagement with others. Although it can be easy to neglect, wellness is the bedrock of psychological health and the ability to pursue a meaningful life.
